Time table was one of the thing that we used when our family was just starting. We put into writing or diary our plans for the family. From expenses, savings, education, and buying new house and vehicle. During those time buying a car was not a priority because my husbands income and my teaching income was not sufficient to buy vehicle. By that time we were also renting a house.

Eventually some plans have been achieved and with a help from one of the financial adviser my finances was managed. Everything turned out to be what was planned.

Last 2012 with a help from a friend we where able to buy our first car. It was a 2nd hand Nissan Serena. We were educate to check some things to consider in buying 2nd hand cars. And 3 years ago we bought a brand new Avanza. Before cars was a luxury but today because of the traffic we feel it is a necessity. Here are as follows.

1. Brand - So we canvassed and ask friends what cars can they can recommend. We comsidered Toyota and Nissan due to some reason. With Nissan air-condition was a selling factor indeed it was. Toyota parts can easily be ready placed and prices are not that expensive.

2. Capacity -considering the fact that our family loves to go out of town and my husband have musical instruments to carry we consider a mini van or SUV to carry his stuff. So both Nissan Serena and avanza has a wide capacity and the chair is so comfortable when travelling.

3. Cost- when we were looking for the right car we compared different car brand. With automatic there is less effort when driving and stress free. Price is a little expensive but the comfort is there

4. Engine- I have no idea about car engine but some told me that once the engine is quiet that is a good buy.And one click of the key for  easy start.


5. Financially Ready- there are a lot of expenses when getting a car. Once purchased you will also pay other stuff like insurance, gasoline,  check-up and accessories for the car.

6. Brand new vs 2nd hand- I personally admit we had a hard time after buying our first 2nd hand car. Considering the fact that there will be unnecessary problems.


Unlike Brand new once maintained no problem will come out within the period of 3 years.

7. Perfect timing - there is a time for everything when making a big decision. So be watchful when to buy cars or house.  You must be financially prepared.
