Reedley is a proud anti-bullying school

Where will  I enroll my child? is the usual questions that parents ask and talked about when their kids are ready for school. As a mom the next questions that comes to my mind is, Is the school safe for my kids?or will they teach them to be competitive to other children? I am an advocate of homeschooling and homestudy program because I see the impact it gives to a child when it comes to studies, And it's a privilege that I can homestudy my kids but to other parents who are not capable of teaching their child because of work and other responsibilities I really don't know what school to recommend.A lot of times I answer bring them to a progressive school or international school because in my mind they have better curriculum than the other schools and the students are not crowded in every class.

Last May 9 I had an opportunity to attend a talk which really interest me. It's about anti-bullying and was conducted at Reedley International School. To my surprise they have this campaign against anti-bullying which is very rampant nowadays in schools, workshops, school clubs and organizations. They gave us an overview on how they  implement this campaign in school. Mr. Emil Ong talked about the history of Reedley and somewhat the bullying he experienced while he was growing up.

                                                                        Mr. Emil Ong

Reedley International School was founded by Mrs. Nellie-Aquino Ong in 1999, it is the first and only institution among the top schools in Merto Manila and in the Philippines to provide a unique international program that enables students to learn more with a less stressful, yet engaging and challenging experience.
Serving families for over 13 years, Reedley has ensured that apart from being at par with international standards. It provides a nurturing learning environment to it's students, thus producing happy and well-rounded individuals. Reedley is currently a Candidate for Accreditation to be awarded by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)-USA and a regular Member of the Council of International Schools (CIS)-UK.

I agree that Happy students are better learners, Reedley's Flagship subject, Life Skills, has been helping students to manage healthy relationships and work effectively by handling stress without sweating the small stuff. Life Skills uses The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens and Happy Kids by Sean Covey as an anchor guide. In addition to Reedley's anti-bullying campaigns, the school integrates study skills, time management, and conflict resolution in it's curriculum.Since I also discovered that Reedley International School is a non-sectarian and respects each students belief.

The talk was so educational and interesting to both parents and educators.I hope that other schools will also have anti-bullying campaign in order to develop students who are will excel not only in academic but will also influence other people in their character.
