SunPlOLOgy turns TEN
Bike, Run + Play, Give Back to Live Healthier Lives
From art auctions to obstacle courses, SunPlOLOgy has come a long way. SunPlOLOgy is a charity-sporting event from Sun Life Philippines and its ambassador Piolo Pascual. Turning a decade old, a TR10 of events will thrill its fans to raise funds for education, diabetes awareness, and help more Filipinos live healthier lives.
Dubbed as ”SUNPIOLOGY TR10”, there are three ways to be part of this milestone: SUN CYCLE PH on November 17 at Bonifacio Global City, SUN LIFE RESOLUTION RUN and SUN vs STARS with Star Magic, both happening on January 26, 2019 at Camp Aguinaldo.
“Wellness has been one of our key initiatives for the past years. Now, we are strengthening our message by inspiring more people to ’live healthier lives’. With our line of new-generation Health and Accident products, Go Well community events, and partnerships such as SUNPIOLOGY, we want to show Filipinos how health and wealth shine brighter together,” explains Sun Life Chief Marketing Officer Ms. Mylene Lopa.
Bike with SUN LIFE CYCLE PH
With the growing interest in biking and its health benefits, SUN LIFE CYCLE PH once again takes riders around four cities (Taguig, Makati, Manila, and Pasay) in routes fit for beginner and seasoned bikers.
Organized by Sunrise Events, SUN LIFE CYCLE PH categories include a Family Ride (30mins dur.); Tricycle Ride (100m and 500m); Short Ride (20km); and Long Ride (40km). Run with SUN LIFE RESOLUTION RUN
Part of SunPlOLOgy TR10 is the SUN LIFE RESOLUTION RUN. It has evolved to a regional spectacle with counterparts in different Sun Life Asia territories. Aside from the Philippines, 3 Resolution Run to kick diabetes and live healthier lives will also happen in Malaysia (January 13), Indonesia (January 20), Hong Kong (January 27), and Vietnam (January 27). Here in the Philippines, the charity Run will retain its charm of a gun start by sunset as the country’s biggest stars race for beneficiaries Hebreo Foundation, Institute for Studies on Diabetes Foundation, Nordhoff Foundation, and Star Magic scholars. A video featuring the 30 interpreters was showcased during the Philpop Reveal and Listening Party last September 12 at the 2nd floor of Cafe 1771, Pasig City.



During the program, Festival Chairman and Philpop Board Member Mr. Ryan Cayabyab stressed the importance of regional inclusivity and giving voice to underrated artists whose compositions have the potential to impact the Filipino people's soul. "This year, we are happy to launch 30 songs that represent stories, struggles, ambitions, and dreams of people like us. We look forward to listen and enjoy these wonderful compositions." Cayabyab also expressed PhilPop's advocacy promoting top-notch Filipino music that matters. "Rest assured that we will stay true to our commitment to look for talented songwriters and give them a platform to realize their dreams of seeing their songs across the nation."

Viva Records, for its part, supervised the official recording of the songs which will be available on platforms such as Youtube and Spotify on September 17 at 12 noon.

Road to Top 10

From the shortlisted Top 30 semi-finalists, only ten will advance to the final round. They will be judged according to the following criteria: 50% judges screening, 25% online streaming, and 25% Smart's People Choice Award voting through SMS and Twitter's conversational ad. The top 10 will be revealed via PhilPop's social media pages and website on October 22, 2018.

The finalists will be given a chance to showcase their original composition as interpreted by the chosen music acts on November 30 in the PhilPop Festival Finals Night that will be held at Capitol Commons in Pasig City.

Coke Studio returns with an amazing line up of local and international artists


September 1, 2018 – There are many things that make us feel at home - laughing and spending quality time with our favorite people, munching on our go-to comfort food along with a refreshing drink, or even listening to a song that brings back precious memories.

Now, music and Coca-Cola come together once more to give young music lovers and Original Pinoy Music (OPM) artists a new home at Coke Studio Homecoming.

In line with the Company’s thrust to empower the youth, Coca-Cola tapped into young Filipinos’ love for music through Coke Studio PH in 2017. Coke Studio PH became a haven where the diversity of OPM was celebrated.

This is why during all Coke Studio events, Coca-Cola encourages teens to deposit their PET bottles in designated recycling bins.  The Coke Studio TuneCycle, a stationary bicycle that also grinds PET bottles, will also be a staple in Coke Studio events. Shopee Shake, the highly popular in-app game that has since clocked over 70 million plays by users across the region, is making a comeback, this time with a new group mode where users can invite others to play at the same time to earn bonus coins, and a supersized coins pool of over 9 million Shopee Coins up for grabs. On Super Shopee Shake Day and Super Shopping Day on 8 and 9 September respectively, users can play up to 18 times in 48 hours for a chance to win Shopee coins, vouchers and prizes.

In line with Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping day, Shopee will also be launching a nationwide Shopee Dance competition called Shopee Dance to Win with prizes including an Ace 50” TV and up to P100,000 in cash to be won. The dance is featured in Shopee’s second television commercial starring Shopee Philippines’ brand ambassador, Anne Curtis.

To qualify, users will need to post a video of themselves doing the Shopee Dance on Facebook or lnstagram with the hashtag #ShopeeDancePH. The competition will run from 31 August till the end of Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping Day. Winners will be announced on Shopee’s social media pages on 9 September.

This year’s Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping Day is supported by more than 60 partners, including Grab, Cebu Pacific, BPI, SM Advantage, ABS-CBN Publishing, and ABS-CBN Store. Joining Shopee in its biggest sale of the year, Grab will be giving P9,000 worth of Grab rides each to 99 Shopee users; while Cebu Pacific will be giving round trip tickets to Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Kota Kinabalu, and Siem Reap.
