Background

Merrell
is a leading outdoor footwear brand established in 1981.
It
all started with a pair of boots that won the Backpacker Magazine’s seal of
approval for being “the most comfortable and functional boots in North
America.”
Today,
there’s more to the brand than just boots, Merrell offers performance shoes
that encourage people, from beginner to seasoned pro, to be active and get
outside. The brand is committed in delivering exceptional footwear and
apparel. After all, their customers are the heart and soul of their brand,
and the inspiration behind the products they create.

1981 – Merrell was founded.
·
1985 – The debut of the Eagle boots, a
functional and lightweight running/trail shoe that combines performance with
utility.

1988 – Merrell bagged the Backpacker
Magazine’s Best Hiker for Merrell Leather.
·
1989 – Merrell goes global.
·
1995 – Merrell partnered with Vibram to
create high-performance footwear with lightweight, long-wearing, and flexible
soles.
·
2003 – QForm Technology was developed with
Sport Biomechanics Inc., to create footwear for women.
·
2004 – Team Merrell was founded by Robyn
Benincasa. The team is made up of 19 of the most inspirational outdoor
athletes competing today.

2009 – Merrell, together with National
Parks Foundation, started a campaign to help people see the importance of
conservation and stewardship.
·
2012 – Merrell US introduced their campaign
for women ‘Pretty Strong.’
·
2013 – The Philippines launched ‘Pretty
Strong’ to further reach out to the female market.
·
2014 – Merrell partnered with the
Philippines’ Department of Tourism and Tourism Promotions Board with its
campaign project “Getaway to Adventure.”
·
2015 – Merrell wins Excellence in the
Philippine Quill Awards 2014 with ‘Getaway to Adventure.’
