Four of the country’s hottest and most promising stars
headline the country’s number 1 tuna’s newest campaign
where they show off their fit and healthy bodies and share secrets
 to an ABS-olutely delicious summer

The sun is at its peak and the beaches look more inviting than ever, but can you say that you’re ready for summer? Century Tuna, the country’s number 1 tuna, once again welcomes the hottest season of the year as it presents the country’s hottest and most promising stars as its newest batch of brand ambassadors.

Making the road to fitness more inspiring and more exciting, the company proudly presents not just one, but four stunning endorsers who represent some of the biggest names in the industry – Paulo Avelino, James Reid, Elmo Magalona and Jessy Mendiola.

“Century Tuna has been known not only for our line of products, but also for our vision of helping our consumers achieve a healthier and happier lifestyle,” says Greg Banzon, general manager of Century Pacific Food Corporation. “We believe that this powerful advocacy requires only the most influential ambassadors who can inspire others through their sexy bodies and healthy lifestyle. And so this year, we strengthen our campaign through with newest batch of endorsers who have also undergone stunning body transformations,” he added.

Known for his enviable bod, striking features and acting prowess is the Gawad Urian awardee Paulo Avelino. Paulo has been living an active lifestyle for years now to maintain his figure. In fact, the actor is engaged in numerous sports activities like badminton, rock climbing and jogging. “Being tapped as a Century Tuna endorser is overwhelming. Now that I am part of the body transformation campaign, I hope to become an inspiration to those who have often expressed admiration of my physique,” Paulo shared.

Meanwhile, Filipino-Australian heartthrob James Reid finds this opportunity to be a sweet reward to his hard work to achieve his now toned figure: “I used to be thin and weak years ago – I even had asthma. But through swimming and gymnastics, and a healthy diet, I’ve become more buffed. I’m definitely proud of the new me.”

Raring to make a name for himself in showbiz, Elmo Magalona ventured into acting, rapping, singing, and hosting. Over time, people also noticed his body’s remarkable transformation. At 20 years old, Elmo has already developed chiseled abs and very muscular arms through a customized workout and disciplined diet. “As the youngest in the bunch, I’d like to let people know that they can – and should – start early in their journey to a healthy body,” he shared.

The only lady in the batch is the beautiful actress who has captured the hearts of many with her angelic face and sexy body: Jessy Mendiola. Jessy has graced a lot of magazine covers and TV commercials, yet she finds something uniquely exciting about her Century Tuna experience: “I’m excited to show a different side of me: a grown-up Jessy who consciously takes care of her body through proper diet and exercise. Plus it’s always nice to endorse a product I truly love!”

Through the inspiring stories of Century Tuna’s newest faces Paulo, James, Elmo and Jessy, the country’s leading tuna brand aims to help more and more people understand that anybody can bring out the better versions of themselves and be ABS-solutely ready for summer.

How did i get to zumba?

I really have passion for dancing since I studied ballet during my college days at the Halili-Cruz School of Dance. But eventually when I gave birth my attention was focused on my son johann. I didn't go back to dancing instead tried aerobics since there is a nearby school that has aerobics. That didn't last long because I became busy and went back teaching piano and voice. I admit during those times I feel so heavy and my movent was like so slow. I have no exercise since I am  not into sports. The sports i enjoy is biking, badminton. Friends encourage me to do exercise and go back to dancing but i gave birth to our youngest mariah.

Then when I started homeschooling my kids i realize the benefit of exercise in our body since I was the one teaching my kids. I enrolled both of them in different dance workshop hiphop, crumping jazz and other dance teenagers enjoy for johann and ballet, Pilates, hawaiian, bellydance and even modeling for mariah. From there i saw who amongst them enjoy dancing. It was johann so he was trained by one of I can see a good trainer. And mariah was more incline in academics, singing and theater arts.

Zumba that time bacame the talk homeschooling moms that many of their friends toned down and lose weight from dancing zumba. Then a friend offered a zumba, aero class for moms at the Ccf St. Francis which we tried and attended. We enjoyed the sessions buy because of the renovation it was stopped.
Then a mom told me to let johann get a license in zumba so he can use his God-given talent. So we did and he enjoyed it and got his certificate.

There was an event for nextgen kids volunteer, it was a sports camp. I signed up for the dance which has series of Training. I agree that my passion dancing came back. Then the momentum stopped.

I started going to the gym since the facilities was new and not many people go to the gym. I got bored since I was alone doing the routine. Photos of my gym days.

I stopped since my husband arrived from his cruise ship. I came back not in the gym but in zumba class which was handled by a Zin Gino Ong.
Again my love for dancing came back. It's been a month that we I am attending the zumba class and i can ferl the result on my body.

This is our Zumba Family at Ccf Center with a mixed group of kids, teens, yuppies and adult like me.

Here is our groupie for the four sessions we had.

I also attended different zumba event like Dance for life, Dance. Repeat Recover which was the latest was last February.

Now i'm excited again to be part of the Glow City Zumba Party. To ba a media partner is also a privilege. Ms. Regine Tolentino the Zumba Queen will be there.
What are you waiting for register and be part of this event.
I want people to feel the benefit I am enjoying at the moment in dancing Zumba. We are always looking forward for wednesday.

Hope to see you on April 11
at the Quezon memorial circle for the Glow City Zumba Event. Be part of the event and have a Happy Life

Philippines (26 January, 2015) – AXN announced today that the Philippines-based TV personalities Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez will reunite once again on the channel as hosts of the inaugural season of the talent search series “Asia’s Got Talent,” set to launch this March.

Nelson and Fernandez will support the four previously-announced celebrity judges -- David Foster, Anggun, Van Ness Wu and Melanie C. -- in their search for Asia's most jaw-dropping, mind-blowing, and breathtaking performances. Contestants who advance to the semi-finals will face an even tougher judge, as AXN audiences at home will decide who wins the first season of “Asia’s Got Talent.”

Hui Keng Ang, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia said: “As competitors on the second season of ‘The Amazing Race Asia,’ Marc and Rovilson captivated viewers with their on-screen charisma. We saw them as a natural fit to host a show like ‘Asia’s Got Talent’ and are proud to have them back on AXN.”
Paul O’Hanlon, Managing Director of Fremantle Media Asia, said: “In addition to their years of experience, Marc and Rovilson bring an incredible energy that will encourage and motivate the contestants. They complement our panel of judges perfectly and we look forward to working with them in the season ahead.” George Levendis, Head of International for Syco Entertainment, said: “Marc and Rovilson are about to take us on a fantastic ride across Asia. We welcome them both to the ‘Got Talent’ family and look forward to them bringing their warmth, wit, humour and magnetism to this unique production.”

                Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez

Nelson and Fernandez burst onto the scene in 2007 on AXN’s “The Amazing Race Asia,” where the best friends held pole position for a record length of the race, from the second to the eighth episodes, ultimately reclaimed the lead during the penultimate episode. From there, they hosted “The Duke,” AXN’s original talk and lifestyle magazine show that profiled some of the most successful men in the region.

Both continued to build their respective careers. Nelson hosted ABS-CBN’s “Sports Unlimited,” and appeared with Fernandez in QTV 11’s “Dare Duo.” Fernandez, who has served as an editor of Maxim men’s magazine in the Philippines, currently hosts his weekly countdown show “Ang Pinaka” on GMA News TV.

Nelson said: “It is an honor and a privilege to host ‘Asia’s Got Talent,’ the biggest talent competition in the world, and to do so with Rovilson is a bonus. We look forward to working with the judges as well as setting the stage for the incredible contestants to shine.”
Fernandez said: “I am humbled to play a part in this great search for talent across our region. With Marc, we will do our best to bring our amazing experience on ‘Asia’s Got Talent’ to AXN viewers.”

The Guinness World Record-breaking hit “Got Talent” format, which was created by Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment and is co-produced by FremantleMedia, is launching its 63rd version on AXN. Billed as the biggest talent competition in the world, the show will dazzle audiences across Asia and spotlight some of the region’s most amazing performing artists competing for the coveted winning title. “Got Talent” is officially the most successful reality TV format in history and currently airs in 186 countries
.
AXN is a leader of regionally-produced original content in Asia with four seasons of the International Emmy-nominated “The Amazing Race Asia,” the Asian Television Award-winning “Cash Cab Asia,” “The Apprentice Asia,” “Cyril: Rio Magic,” “Cyril’s Family Vacation: Hawaii Edition,” and the Asian Television Award-nominated “Cyril: Simply Magic.”

“Got Talent” Sponsors
As previously announced, the inaugural season of “Asia’s Got Talent” on AXN is proudly presented by Marina Bay Sands, BIG Cola, Pantene, Caltex and Jetstar.

ARCHERY and KODANDA HISTORY

The bow may have been created to give range to spear throwing in the hunting of game in primitive times, the arrow being a smaller version of the spear.  Archery’s participation in history thus began.  The beginning and technology of firearms came long after wars were won by skilled archers and swordsmen but was the main reason for the death of archery as one of the main military and tactical tools of war.

Britain revived archery as a recreational past time in the late 1700s. In 1840, the first attempt to make it a modern sport was made.  Archery as a sport was first seen in the Olympic Games in 1900.

It is safe to say that archery gained worldwide popularity in recent years thanks to Hollywood blockbusters like the Lord of the Rings (Legolas and the Elves) and more recently The Hunger Games (Katniss Everdeen), the Avengers (Hawkeye), Disney’s animated feature Brave (Princess Merida), and popular US television shows Arrow and The Walking Dead.  A group of friends saw this increasing interest as well as the lack of facility where one can learn the sport. Thus the Kodanda Archery Range was created.

Kodanda Archery Range is a seven-lane, fully air-conditioned indoor archery range located on the upper basement of Makati Cinema Square along Chino Roces Avenue (formerly Pasong Tamo) in Makati City. Opened July 5 of 2013, Kodanda Archery Range was founded to provide an avenue for people who are interested to try out archery, without having to spend a small fortune. It is open to all interested individuals with the minimum age being seven years old.

The name Kodanda is Sanskrit for “he who has a bow.” It is also the name of the great bow and constant companion of Rama as he overcomes evil in the Hindu epic Ramayana (Mahabharata being the other epic).

BENEFITS

Although there is not a lot of walking or running involved, archery is still a physically demanding and rewarding sport. Drawing the bowstring places stress on one’s arms, chest, shoulders, and back, developing upper body and arm strength with repetition. Constant practice also helps improve posture, balance, and hand-eye coordination.

The exercise of targeting helps develop focus, patience and allows the individual to center and calm him/herself, which can, in the long run, have a positive impact on one’s mental health and well-being.

Despite the apparent individualistic nature of archery, it can be a social activity where families, friends, and co-workers can take up the sport as a group, and through the shared experience of learning something new that personal bonds can be solidified.

WHAT SETS US APART

The only archery range that is fully air-conditioned (vs open air) AND open to the public (vs club membership required) in Makati.  We are also the most affordable given that our hourly fee already includes range rental, use of international-standard equipment and protective gear, and coaching on archery basics from expert instructors.

ARCHERY SHOP

We are now also an archery shop where you can buy all equipments and accessories necessary in the sport of archery.  From compound bows to quiver bags to novelty shirts, it’s a one stop shop for everything archery.

PARTICIPATION IN ARCHERY IN THE PHILIPPINES

Archery continues to be a sport taught in colleges in the country.  At the recent 2012 London Olympics, two of the eleven-member Philippine contingent, Mark Javier and Rachel Anne Cabral, are proud archers. Syd Fraginal, a former Philippine National Team archer who was once a record-holder in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, continues to cultivate his passion for the sport as a full-time coach at Kodanda Archery Range.

Kodanda Archery Range now holds Fun Shoot Competition almost every month to cater to our growing regular clientele as well as interested archers.

RANGE RULES

Always treat your archery equipment with respect.
Do not draw and point the bow towards anyone even when there’s no arrow on the string.
Only release the bow string at full draw when there is an arrow on the string.  “Dry Firing” may cause damage to the bow, and is dangerous.
Keep your arrows in your quiver until you are told to shoot.
Only use the arrows the instructor provided you.
If you drop your arrow, leave it on the ground until you are told to get it.
Place the bow on the rack before retrieving your arrows.
Strictly no running in the range premises.
Secure all loose clothing; remove bracelets, necklaces, etc. Tie hair back (for ladies).
Pay attention to the instructions and advice of the range instructors.

ARCHER’S ETIQUETTE:

Always keep the safety measures in mind.
Respect everyone shooting with arrows. In archery, all archers are fellows; they are not your enemies.
Wear proper attire. No slippers allowed.
Do not talk in a loud voice while others are shooting.  Do not talk to another archer who prefers to be silent.  Do not disturb people with loud mobile phone ringtones or speaking on the phone.
Do not offer advice unless asked.
Do not touch another archer’s equipment without their permission.

                  Mariah is so focused

                       Target Paper

WHAT TO WEAR

Rubber shoes are the only required get up when you go to Kodanda. All other safely gear will be provided:

Drop the anchor this March at Marriott Manila for the best seafood catch in the city. There’s no need for goggles, just an appetite to dive into the freshest finds featuring the finest local and international ocean fare. At Marriott Café, submerge yourself with the bounty of the world’s ocean that you just won’t find anywhere else. Whether you’re craving for shelled, with fins or tentacles, each of the interactive stations have something fresh to offer. Visit Marriott Café for dinner from Monday to Thursday, and sink your fork into special dishes including Octopus Ceviche, Hawaiian Tuna Poke, Kilawin Lapu-lapu, Marinated Shrimp and Seafood Ceviche. Enjoy all these for only Php1,950.  The most prized catch is Friday and Saturday dinner where Marriott Café’s famous Ocean’s Harvest features an oyster bar elegantly displayed on a bed of ice. Throw in a selection of seafood choices cooked to your delight and a wine collection to match your adventure in the high seas for Php 2,400.

Sail away to Cru Steakhouse for premium tuna creations from sashimi, tartar, seared to grilled. You are assured of a guilt free indulgence as Executive Chef Meik Brammer partners with Norpac Fisheries Export to source quality fish from sustainable sources.  Another ocean adventure waits at the Greatroom.  The net has been cast to give you farmed oysters, poached tiger prawns and blue crabs served on ice. This lavish seafood platter is available for Php 650. Take the plunge and quench your thirst with marine-inspired concoctions such as rolling in the deep, seas the day, mud fish and bubble fish for Php 325 per glass. Move over to Java+ and get hooked with farmed shrimp and Davao pomelo salad. This packed salad in Mason jar is easy to eat, perfect for people on the go.

Be captivated both by taste and beauty from underwater at Marriott Manila, and explore the depths through a stunning photo exhibit of environmentalist and photographer, Mr. Bo Mancao at the lobby. The hotel is also doing its fair share in saving the ocean by supporting Marriott International’s sustainable seafood program called "Future Fish," the first, large global hotel chain to adopt such a policy.

Fall for Marriott Manila’s seafood catch hook, line and sinker this March. For inquiries and reservations, call (02)9889999 or visit manilamarriott.com. To join ongoing conversations, like Facebook.com/MarriottHotelManila, follow @marriottmanila on Twitter and
