The group consist of media people and online writers and mommy bloggers. We were so grateful because of the Company's generosity we where picked up at Market Market going to the plant.

Since it was Sunday the travel time didn't took long it was so smooth and we arrived early for the tour.

We were welcomed by the friendly smiles of the Gardenia staff upon registration.The ambiance was so friendly that we couldn't help to tale photos.

Then we were settled in a conference room to learn more about the company. Mr. Umali the President of Gardenia Plant welcomed us and gave us some insight about the company, their products and services.

History of Gardenia, it's a multi-national bread manufacturing company that began in 1997 QAF Limited through Gardenia International Pte. Ltd established Gardenia Bakeries (Philippines) Inc. It started the construction of it's bakery plant in Laguna Industrial Park (LIIP), Binan, Laguna.

Gardenia's core business revolves around fresh bread. It's a multi-national comoany with operations particularly in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

In 1998 Gardenia Philippines started it's operation with the state of the art bread factory rated as one of the most modern large scale bread manufacturing facility in the country. It's highly-automated and major equipment comes from the best bakery equipment suppliers from Germany, Holland, UK and USA making it the leading bread manufacturing company in the Philippines.

The popular Classic White Bread is cholesterol free and bromate free, vitamin and minerals fortified, has zero trans-fat complying with the Department of Health (DOH) recommendations.

Eventually new products were introduced namely: Enriched Classic White Bread, High Fiber Wheat Bread, Wheat Raisin Loaf, Wheat Cranberry Loaf, Slim'N Fit Wheaten Bread and flavored loaves like California Raisin Loaf, Chocolate Chip Loaf, Double-Delights Loaf (Ube-Cheese and Choco-Mocha), Dates and Walnuts Loaf, The Amazing Black Forest and Butterscotch loaves, Pandesal (available in regular, soft delight and savory pandesal hotdog flavor). Whole Wheat Bun, Hotdog and Hamburger buns, Toasts, and single serve snack items such as filled buns, twiggies, muffins, toast breads and cream rolls with different variety are also included in Gardenia's product range. Those are a lot of products we could choose from Mommies!

Moving to the future Gardenia operation and distribution had grown rapidly and is not only in Metro Manila but as far as Ilocos, Abra , Tarlac and Cagayan provinces in the North while Bicol and Sorsogon in the South. Last 2011 Gardenia inaugurated it's bread plant in Cebu to cater the bread needs of the Eastern and Western Visayas down to Northern and Central Mindanao.

Gardenia has been awarded with ISO International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001: 2000 certifications from 2003 to 2009 and has upgraded to ISO 9001:2008 in compliance with Quality Management System and certification from product quality excellence. Moreover Gardenia is HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) certified since 2003 to present-a proof of the company's adherence to the systematic approach in the identification, evaluation, and control of food safety standards. From 2004-2010 Gardenia was accorded Superbrands status by Superbrands Ltd., an independent authority and arbiter on branding. This on the other hand, re affirms that Gardenia has met the stringent criteria of market dominance, longevity, goodwill, customer loyalty and overall market acceptance. Other notable awards are Annual National Consumer Award (ANCA) as the "Outstanding Bread Manufacturer" for five straight years.
